Headlight issues

I’m not very impressed by how Bandai seems to be scrimping on their SHfiguarts bikes, namely the Hardboilder and Skullboilder. The specific parts I’m referring to (you might’ve guessed already) are the headlights.

Personally, the headlights kinda make or break the bike. I wouldn’t mind having slightly less details on the bike itself, but the headlights should always look accurate.

Now, looking at the samples for the Hardboilder and Skullboilder, they look perfect. Great detail on the bike, and realistic looking headlights. Now, compare the samples to the final products on the right.

Hardboilder’s headlights are just transparent clear plastic pieces without anything behind, causing them to appear black due to the black plastic behind them.

As for Skullboilder, it’s pretty much the opposite. Bandai, apparently having noticed their error, decided to “correct” Skullboilder’s headlights by painting them totally silver, rendering it kinda cheap looking imo.

Which brings about the question: why didn’t Bandai just use the headlights used in the sample pieces? Both bikes don’t have much paint apps, so why did Bandai scrimp on them like this? I’d be miffed if I paid such high prices for 2 bikes, only to realize that their headlights are so terribly flawed…

Never noticed the headlights… Until you pointed them out. They really look so damn different…. WTF Translucent instead of transparent?

Yeah… $40-$60 for a bike, and that’s what you get… Not worth it imo. If I pay that much for something, I’d expect it to be of quality.
